Bare Root vs Potted? Which is best
Bare Root vs Potted? Which is best
A stunning gallica rose with some of the richest, darkest blooms you'll find, 'Cardinal de Richelieu' produces dense clusters of sumptuous deep burgundy-purple flowers in June and July. Each fully double bloom is wonderfully fragrant and displays velvety petals that deepen to near-black in the shadows - absolutely gorgeous for cutting, especially as the stems are virtually thornless. This historic French rose is remarkably versatile, thriving in both full sun and partial shade, making it perfect for mixed borders or as a dramatic specimen plant against dark green foliage.

It's also brilliantly forgiving - happy in sun or shade, tough as old boots with excellent disease resistance, and compact enough (4-5ft) to fit beautifully in borders. A heritage gallica with genuine wow-factor and effortless style.
